Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) fighters, in coordination with the Tuareg-led Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), struck five locations across Mali on July 4 — Bamako, the garrison town of Kati, Gao, Mopti, and Sévaré — in the second such coordinated multi-city offensive in ten weeks. The Malian army reported killing 20 attackers in Sévaré and six in Gao, and declared the situation "totally under control." Independent verification of those figures remains limited.
